Rippa Tournament

Last Tuesday we had a group of years 5/6 students at the Rippa Rugby Tournament in Motueka. The two teams were full of positive energy and were very supportive of each other. It was so great to see our students wear the UMO t-shirt with pride.
We had a lot of children with sore muscles at the end of the day.

Salsa Time

We have had a lot of fun learning simple salsa steps with Sarah.
Each week we will add to our moves and create a simple salsa routine with a buddy.

Learning Celebration

During Learning Celebration last week the boys gymnastic group performed their floor routine. It was awesome to see what they have come up with within one week. The countdown is now on for June 20th!

Drama with Sarah

We are all really enjoying having Sarah in our class for her 7-week placement. Sarah is starting to take on more in the classroom and today we experienced her first Drama lesson. The children were so engaged and excited to be having a go at something new and a lot of them really stepped out of their comfort zone.

Football Boys in Action

This weekend I watched the 11th Grade Rangers Football match. The boys were in high spirits and played a tough game against Nelson Suburbs. It was so great to see them all having a run and enjoying themselves on the field.
Looking forward to seeing your next game already.

Theme with Marama

We have started a new Theme unit with Marama based on 'Our Environment.'
It is great collaborating with the senior students and learning from each other.
We started our unit off with a 'Gallery Walk,' looking at images around Global Warming and Climate Change. The children recorded their ideas and concerns from these images and shared them with one another.

Rippa with Mitchell

We are really lucky to have Mitchell from the Mako Training Squad come to school to take us for Rippa Rugby skills. Later on this term, there is a Years 5-6 Rippa Rugby Tournament so it's great training for those interested in going to this event.
